HedgePlus Minting Guide

Follow these steps to mint (buy) HedgePlus through our dApp interface:

1. Select Asset and Enter Amount

   • In the dApp interface, choose your preferred backing asset to stake (e.g., USDC)

   • Enter the amount of the backing asset you wish to stake

   • The system will display the amount of HedgePlus you'll receive

2. Confirm and Sign

   • Carefully review the displayed HedgePlus amount

   • If you agree with the exchange rate, click the "Stake" button

   • Your wallet will prompt you to sign an EIP712 format signature and approve assets

   • The signature includes: backing asset type, backing asset amount, and the HedgePlus amount you'll receive

3. Ascent Processes the Request

   • After you sign the transaction with your wallet, Ascent's system will validate your request

   • Upon successful validation, Ascent will submit the transaction to the blockchain

4. Complete Minting

   • Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain

   • The system will automatically swap your chosen backing asset (e.g., stETH) for the agreed amount of HedgePlus in an atomic transaction

   • At this point, HedgePlus will appear in your wallet

Important to Note

• Yield Generation: HedgePlus holders automatically earn yield simply by holding their HedgePlus. No additional actions are required.

• Yield Accumulation: Instead of direct payments, yield accumulates within the staking contract, gradually increasing the value of HedgePlus over time. Users can unstake their HedgePlus at any point, receiving an amount of USDC that reflects their initial stake plus any value increase since staking.

• Dynamic Staking Ratio: The amount of HedgePlus received when staking USDC is not fixed; it depends on the current value of HedgePlus. At launch, the ratio will be 1:1 (1 HedgePlus = 1 USDC). However, as protocol yield is transferred to the Staking smart contract, the value of ascentBTC.s is expected to appreciate gradually.
